St. Ann’s Knitting Guild

ALTAR SERVERS NEW PROCEDURES TRAINING SESSION—Two training sessions will be held for altar servers after the 
8:30 a.m. Mass on Sunday, August 17 and Sunday, August 24.  The new procedures for senior servers, cross bearers and servers will be discussed at length.  The session begins at 9:45 a.m. and will conclude by 10:45 a.m.  All servers are expected to attend one of these sessions.

Youth Protection 1 training class at SFX is scheduled for August 26 from 6:30 p.m.—8:30 p.m. in the Parish Hall.  If there is the possibility that you will become involved with Youth activities, as a teacher, a chaperone, or in other capacities, you must have this training every three years.  Please contact the Parish Office if you plan to attend.

Spring Hill College’s Adult Theology Program (graduate, undergraduate, audit): Theology of the Church, Instructor: Dr. John Switzer.  Six Saturdays: 9/6, 9/20, 10/4, 10/18, 11/1, 11/15, 2008; 9am-4pm at the Diocesan Office Building in Birmingham.  This course will explore the significance of the Church’s self-understanding using The Second Vatican Council (1962-1965) as a case study.  We’ll use these documents as our primary texts in order to clarify the changes they produced in the Church and the accompanying interpretations they inspired.  Dr. John Switzer is Assistant Professor of Theology at Spring Hill College.  For more information, please call 205-838-8300, or email theologybirmingham@shc.edu.
