The Parish School of Religion includes the adult members of St. Francis Xavier sharing our rich Catholic heritage with younger members of the parish. Volunteers come each Sunday morning to teach, pray, converse and do faith-life related activities with those who are four years old through senior year in high school. (For anything on adult enrichment, please see Adult Education)
The components of our program are to teach the message of God, lead others to worship God, enable community building within smaller groupings (usually by age), and to encourage service to those in the larger community. Developing a personal relationship with Christ and then being a light of Christ in the world is overall goal.
We frequently need volunteers to teach, to prepare materials for the classes, or to become involved in special activities during the school year. Those who wish to share the Catholic faith by following a certain curriculum are given some training and orientation for this important ministry
